   Metaldyne's manufacturing footprint is rapidly expanding through the Asia Pacific region to better serve its growing global customer base. Metaldyne's operation in Pyeongtaek, Korea currently supplies balance shaft modules for the Hyundai Sonata. With increasing local and export market demand, plans are already underway to double the size of the facility and expand manufacturing capabilities to support connecting rod and front engine modular assembly (FEMA) production.
To support explosive growth in China, Metaldyne will have two wholly-owned manufacturing operations in the region by 2006. A chassis facility in Hangzhou is in production today, and a new powertrain facility in Suzhou will leverage the company's global design and engineering expertise to produce world-class powertrain products in China by 2006. Further supported by a Sales and Engineering center in Yokohama, Japan, Metaldyne continues to focus on strategic growth in Asia.
