重庆康明斯发动机有限公司是一个股比为50%对50%的中美合资企业。中方的前身是重庆汽车发动机厂，在1981年向美国康明斯公司购买了NH和K系列的生产许可证。合资公司成立于1995年10月1日，注册资金为4.2亿人民币，合作期限是30年。
　　公司生产NH、K、M11发动机和发电机组。发动机的功率范围是从145KW到1343KW，广泛性使用在重型卡车、高速公路的客车、工程机械、油田机械、发电机组、船机轨道车等等领域。公司的产品很受客户的欢迎，因为性能好、可靠性强，并且环保、节能。
　　合资以后公司即投入了大约2亿元人民币，用于技术改造以改进质量和扩大生产能力。1999年获得了法国BVQI公司颁发的ISO9001的证书。
　　公司共有员工1500人，2002年销售收入是4.75亿人民币。
　　Chongqing Cummins Engine Company Ltd.(CCEC) is a 50/50 Sino-American equity joint venture that began with a Technology License Agreement between Cummins and the Chongqing Automotive Engins Plant in 1981. The joint venture was formed on October 1. 1995 with a total registered capital of US $48 million (RMB417.6 million) and a contract period of 30 years.
　　CCEC specializes in manufacturing N,K, and M11 series Cummins diesel engines and generator sets using these engines. The engines tange from 145kW to 1343kW and are used in heavy-duty trucks, highway coaches, construction equipment, oll fleld equipment, generator sets, marine vessels, rail and other applications. Customers prefer Cummins engines for their excelient fuel economy, performance, reliability, and because they are environmentally friendly.
　　Immediately after forming the joint venture, CCEC invested almost Rmb 200 million in technical renovation and capital improvements, both to increase capacity and to improve quality. In 1999CCEC was certified ISO9001 compliant by BVQI of France.
There are 1518 employees in CCEC, and the revenue in 2002 was US $57.3 million (475M RMB)
