曼商用车辆股份公司（MAN

Headquartered in Munich, Germany, and as one
of the leading manufacturers of commercial vehicles in Europe,
the largest company within the MAN Group, MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG
(hereinafter referred to as MAN) develops, manufactures and sells
trucks between 6 to 50 tons for every kind of application, scheduled-service
buses and coaches with brands including MAN, STEYR, ÖAF，ERF
and STAR. Engines from Nuremberg works are used in vehicles, boats
and for the generation of energy.
MAN’s Production facilities locate in Germany, Austria, England,
Poland, Turkey, South Africa and Australia. Assembly operations
under license exist in many other countries like South Africa,
Egypt etc.
MAN Group has 77,606 employees in total on Dec 31,2001, of which
34,398 works for MAN Nutzfahrzeuge Ag. The total sales of MAN
Group in the fiscal year ended on Dec 31,2002 is Euro 16300 million,
out of which Euro 6600 million come from the commercial vehicle
business. The same year MAN Nutzfahreuge AG received order for
a total of 55,000 units’ commercial vehicles, of which 51,100
were trucks and 3,900 buses, taking 13.7% of Western Europe’s
market.
MAN Nutzfahreuge AG’s objectives have been and will be to increase
the products’ efficiency and safety of operation, and their environmental
compatibility. Its great success on the market is partially due
to the technologies incorporated into its motor vehicles. Including
both new and further developed ones, these technologies have increased
the vehicles’efficiency and safety of operation, and their environmental
compatibility. In fiscal year 2001/2002, its expenditures for
research and development came to Euro 171 million.
